Artist Statement
Robin gratefully acknowledges that she is privileged to live, play and paint on the beautiful traditional territories of the Lkwungen and WSANEC peoples, who, despite being forcibly removed from their home, continue their historical relationships with the land to this day.
Robin is excited by colours and the effect of light on shapes; the feel of paint flowing from the brush; and the fascinating ways our eyes and minds see 3-dimensions on the flat surface of a painting. She creates art for pure enjoyment and takes commission work when it presents. She loves to paint nature, pets and people as well as caricatures of people. Watercolour on paper is her most-used medium, but acrylics, oils, and house paints are also used, on various mediums including shoes and furniture.
